The official student publication of the College of Information and Communications Technology (CICT), the CURSOR Publication, held its first general assembly at CICT’s AVR, 8 AM on September 16, 2023.
The opening remarks started with a prayer that was followed with a short speech from Mr. Roderick Cantaros, the publication adviser. Mr. Cantaros discussed the essence of the publication and highlighted the responsibilities of its staff.
After that, Janella Christine Carrillo, the Associate Editor of the Publication, reported the accomplishments of the publication from 2022 to 2023 . Members of the editorial board and staff were introduced as well, along with the newly recruited members of the CURSOR Publication by Mary Rose Joy Robles, the Managing Editor for Administration. She also discussed the constitution and focused on important points that new members have to know.
Financial reports of the publication were also tackled in the assembly by Jan Joseph Manalo, the Senior Managing Editor for Finance. That was followed by discussions of each section’s upcoming plans and activities, led by the section heads and editors.
Lastly, Lorilie Perez, CURSOR Publication’s Editor-in-chief, welcomed the newly recruited staff members and talked about the activities the publication will be involved in this academic year.
