Today, November 5, 2021, marks the end of the Sambalaran Online Camp Project V themed โBagong Hamon sa Panahon ng Pandemyaโ. For the final day, CICT organized a webinar that provided GSIS updates for public school teachers.
From 8:30 am to 11:00 am, the event was led by CICT College Secretary Dr. Digna S. Evale as she welcomed the teachers from different public schools in Malolos, Bulacan.
The webinarโs main objective is to give financial literacy through the updates on the new GSIS Programs & Services for the currently employed teachers and give information on the GSIS Pre-Retirement Benefits and Programs led by Jose John Rivera, the Division Chief of the Frontline Services Department of GSIS.
In the first part of the program, he tackled the coverage of the new GSIS Ginhawa Programs, GSIS Covid Programs, and the continuation of GSIS Financial Assistance Loan (GFAL). The speaker also introduced the GSIS’ latest digital innovation, GSIS Touch, which can be used to access pensionerโs records, and GSIS Motor Vehicle Claims Processing System to file vehicle insurance claims using a smartphone.
In the second part of the event, the speaker discussed the Pre-Retirement Programsโ requirements to qualify. In filing retirement pension, the App Form, the service record, and the certificate of retirement are the documents to be submitted, and he also made it a point to file a year before retirement. He discussed the benefits, such as life insurance, separation, and disability, and their corresponding beneficiaries.
The program ended with the awarding of the Certificate of Participation to the speaker, given by the BSIT Department Head, Dr. Rosemarie M. Bautista. It was followed by the closing remarks led by the Head of Extension Service Unit, Donna Q. Fernando, who led the week-long event and thanked all of the facilitators and participants for their support in the event. As a token of gratitude, she held a raffle for the participants, a 1 TB external hard drive, which was won by a teacher from Santisima Trinidad.
